Teacup Penholder

Project Overview:
I was commissioned to design a custom penholder for 3D printing by WitchyForest. The client requested a functional yet creative design that reflected the aesthetics of their brand. The goal was to create a unique and practical desk accessory that could securely hold a digital stylus and the stylus’ nibs while adding a personal touch to the workspace.

Process:

I worked closely with the client to capture their vision of intertwining tentacles gripping a delicate teacup. Using Zbrush and Nomad Sculpt, I developed several design iterations, focusing on the organic flow of the tentacles and ensuring the structure would be stable and print-friendly. I paid special attention to the details in the tentacle textures and the teacup’s shape, incorporating the client’s feedback throughout the process.

Final Outcome:

I delivered both the STL file for the client to use for future prints and a fully printed version of the penholder, produced in Elegoo’s Standard Rapid Resin. The tentacles seamlessly held the stylus, and the design was praised for its intricate details and functionality. The client was delighted with both the digital file and the printed model, which made a standout addition to their workspace.
